Note: There are many ways to achieve the same highlight and shadow bevel effect from outlined text. Others include Pathfinder/Trim and Pathfinder/Knockout Back. The method in the video is kind of a clunky way to do it but I just keep doing it out of habit. Whatever works for you is fine, experiment and have fun.

These methods are limitless in their application and manipulation potential, so with mixing and matching a few basic techniques you can create an infinite number of possibilities.
